The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce — the largest and most established business advocacy group in Linn and Benton Counties — is seeking a visionary and dynamic President & CEO to lead a thriving organization at the heart of a growing regional economy.
This is a high-impact role for a strategic, relationship-driven leader ready to modernize a legacy institution, strengthen member value, and drive community-wide economic success.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute the Chamber’s strategic direction, programs, and partnerships.
Drive member recruitment and retention strategies to grow and sustain the Chamber.
Engage and advocate politically with local and state government officials to influence pro-business policies.
Oversee staff, operations, and financial performance with transparency and accountability.
Serve as the Chamber’s primary public representative and relationship builder.
What You Bring
Leadership experience in a Chamber of Commerce, 501(c)(6), or business/economic development organization.
Public policy or government relations experience strongly preferred.
Excellent communication and strategic planning skills.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent leadership experience.
Graduate of U.S. Chamber Institute or WACE Academy preferred.

The President/Chief Executive Officer, by authority granted by the Board of Directors, directs and leads the Chamber toward its mission. The President/CEO is responsible for the Chamber’s program of work and all staffing and administrative concerns. They work directly with the board on policy making and strategy for the organization and serve as the primary staff point of contact for the officers, executive committee, board of directors, elected officials, general public, and business community.
Desired Knowledge and Skills
Chamber of Commerce and/or 501(c)(6) Organizational Management experience – 5+ years
Graduate of U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute (IOM) or WACE Academy
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong computer and organizational skills
Supervision/management experience of staff and volunteers
Ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional manner
Proven experience in budget development, financial management, and controls
Self-management and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn ChamberMaster database

Education: Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years of relevant experience
