Responsibilities
Management
Oversee the business development team, which includes attraction, expansion, and entrepreneurial ecosystem growth
Ensure business development activities align with larger organizational goals
Set individual and team goals to drive performance and achieve strategic outcomes
Develop and manage budgets for the business development department collectively with Controller, ensuring efficient resource allocation and ROI on business development activities
Educate team and Board of Directors on significant industry factors, including competitive regions, trends, client needs, and service offerings
Establish and report on metrics to measure team performance
Foster a team culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence
Internal
Track and manage the client project pipeline using HubSpot
Collaborate with in-house staff and partners to identify regional market dynamics
Partner with workforce liaison to assist with client needs
Stay informed on major economic development tools and roadblocks including incentives, tax structures, financing options, FMLA, foreign direct investment, etc.
Promotes and oversees Foreign Trade Zone program
Evaluates economic, statistical, and demographic data to analyze best means to attract, retain, or expand businesses and/or industries to facilitate economic growth
Work with Data Analyst to monitor targeted industry trends and company activity that could generate new regional leads
Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns, lead generation initiatives, and regional awareness
Timely response to client inquires
External
Identify and develop long-term relationships with clients, investors, and strategic partners Regular (bi-monthly) engagement with the broker, developer, builder, banker, legal, and tax communities
Confidently deliver or present on LVGEA-related activities, events, and forecasts Regular engagement with regional and municipal partners relative to economic development strategies and activities
Establishing regular presence at appropriate conferences that utilize LVGEA networks Create or participate in existing steering committees for our regions target industries
Maintains strong familiarity with local, state, and federal economic development incentives in order to recruit and assist potential economic development clients
Prepare and execute Familiarization Tours for site selectors and out -of- market companies Direct and coordinate out-of-market B2B trips
Compensation
Salary: $125,000-$150,000 + Bonus Competitive Benefits to include:

Requirements
Must present 10+ years of proven experience working in B2B sales with at least two years in an economic development capacity
Minimum of 2 years experience managing a team
Strong understanding of economic development and/or commercial real estate practices Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives (revenue targets, pipeline targets, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in either economics, business, marketing or related field, MBA preferred
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
Certified Economic Developer (CECD)
Experience in doing business with C-level business executives Availability for travel (up to 25%)
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook)
Outstanding presentation and communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (Ex. HubSpot)
Demonstrate high levels of integrity, initiative, honesty, and leadership
Expert abilities in building relationships, listening, persuading, negotiating and time management
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and dynamic workload Proficiency in utilizing social media for professional networking
Experience in developing and speaking about data reports in Power BI or Tableau
