Base salary of $62,400, plus an opportunity to earn up to $62,400 in bonus, based on contributions to membership revenue

The chamber seeks a highly qualified, hands-on, experienced president/CEO with a proven record of accomplishment of growth and increasing membership with previous organizations. The CEO should have at least two years of successfully running a chamber of commerce or other viable non-profit organizations. The candidate must exhibit strong motivation in organizing, managing and implementing the goals set by the Board of Directors. The successful candidatewill have strong organizational, technology, budgeting and marketing skills. The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to grow and retain membership and increase revenue stream. Chamber industry experience is preferred, as is being a graduate of the WACE Academy, the US Chamber Institute, or similar program.
RESPONSIBILITES
The President/CEO reports directly to the Carson Chamber Executive Committee and Board of Directors and adheres to the policies set forth by the board.
Cultivate good relationships with city, county, state and federal government and their elected officials and staff.
Represent the chamber at events and at meetings with government officials.
Recruit and retain members.
Responsible for the complete operation and ultimate success of the chamber.
All aspect of the day-to-day activities including coordinating the program of work, income and expenditures, organizational structure, policies and procedure, coordination/motivation of volunteers, recruitment and retention of the chamber members, supervision of employees, creation and promotion of chamber activities.
Community outreach and long-term planning for the growth and prosperity of the chamber.
Per the bylaws, The CEO shall be the secretary to the board of directors and maintain an accurate record of the proceedings of the chamber and the board of directors meeting.
Other similar duties may be as directed by the board.

Proficient computer skills and a thorough understanding of most social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram), typical office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), and web authoring.
Carson is a city in Los Angeles County with a population of about 93,000 residents and thousands of businesses. Ranging from home businesses to multinational companies and major oil refineries, the chamber has about 300 members from the city and surrounding areas. The current president/CEO is retiring, and the Board of Directors is looking for a team to take the organization to the next level. With stable finances and a good reputation, the chamber is poised for growth.
