The Temple Chamber of Commerce is seeking a visionary leader to serve as President/CEO which is vital to shaping the Chamber’s focus and impact on Temple and the surrounding region. This position serves as the face of the Chamber on the local, state, and international stages and is responsible for all facets of the Chamber’s work across the region. In addition to being a strong and influential leader, the Chamber’s President/CEO is responsible for working with the region’s stakeholders to develop and implement the Chamber’s strategic plan and continue to build upon the Chamber’s existing momentum as a valuable resource to and advocate of its members.

Examples of Duties:
The President/CEO is responsible for all aspects of the Chamber of Commerce, including overseeing day-to-day operations, leading, and motivating the staff, establishing effective organizational structure and hierarchy, assigning duties, and overseeing any changes to operating procedures, salary changes, staff reprimands, and financial success.
Develop and implement the Chamber's strategic vision, goals, and objectives in alignment with the needs of the local business community.
Promote and help market businesses in the Temple community in an effort to ensure a thriving business environment.
Provide leadership and direction to the Chamber's staff, board, committees, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective and efficient execution of the Chamber’s programs.
The President/CEO is the Chamber’s primary spokesperson and advocate with stakeholders, government officials, the media, the business community, and the community at large.
Will be responsible for building, as well as maintaining, strong relationships with all stakeholders in the community.
The Chamber’s President/CEO is responsible for all budgeting and fiscal accountability, including growing both dues and non-dues revenue opportunities for the Chamber.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors works collaboratively with the President/CEO and as such is the main point of contact for board members when conducting Chamber business.
Updates and reports regarding Chamber business to the Board are the responsibility of the President/CEO.
Responsible for actively engaging in and overseeing strategies and initiatives to attract new and retain existing Chamber members.
Working with Chamber staff to always provide timely and relevant programs and initiatives that align with the needs of the members.
Oversee the successful planning and execution of all Chamber programs and events.

Experience and Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, in the area(s) of business administration, economics, public administration, association management, public relations, marketing, or a related field, from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Eight to 10 years of leadership experience in the Chamber of Commerce, association, business, economic development, community development, and/or equivalent field, or a combination of these.
At least two to three years of experience working with a board of directors.
