The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce (YCRC) is the largest business organization in its four-county region in South Carolina and is the second largest chamber in the Charlotte Region, with 750 members. It has an annual budget of $750,000 and a full-time staff of five. YCRC is one of three chambers in our county, serving the Fort Mill, Rock Hill, Tega Cay, and York areas (estimated to encompass 88% of county business community). The President & CEO provides strategic direction, vision, and management for the programs and personnel of the YCRC and its affiliates. He/she demonstrates expertise in strategic planning, fundraising and revenue development (including membership sales and retention), membership and member services, program management, economic/business development, public policy, nonprofit governance and operations, finance and accounting, and public speaking. He/she has full responsibility for profit and loss, fiscal stability, and compliance. He/she is a dynamic leader with the ability to manage current programs while developing new initiatives and partnerships with other business and community organizations to achieve regional goals and objectives. The President/CEO reports to the Board of Directors.
Strongly preferred bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience may be considered.
A minimum of five years of successful chamber leadership and/or ten years of non-profit/association executive management, demonstrating progressively greater responsibility in each position.
Previous experience managing a like-sized or larger annual budget.
Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development through the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management and/or Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) designation is considered a plus.
Residency in York County is required, no later than six months from date of employment.

Utilizes volunteers and other resources in a manner that achieves the Chamber’s goals.
Executes Board policy and assignments.
Develops and implements appropriate human resources and policies and procedures.
Effectively assigns, develops, leads, and supervises Chamber personnel.
Prepares in a timely manner a budget that enables the Chamber to achieve its goals.
Achieves membership and retention goals that provide an adequate financial base.
Follows the approved budget, with due consideration to changing circumstances.
Ensures that the Board and membership are fully informed on the Chamber’s financial status.
Maintains effective and appropriate communication of Chamber philosophy, goals to members, media, government officials, the business community and public.
Communicates effectively with Board and membership.
Ensures that the Board has the information needed to set policy and make decisions.
Communicates well verbally and in writing.
Possesses and utilizes ability to develop consensus among Board and memberships on councils, task forces, committees, partners, etc.
Has credibility in the business and larger community and works well with diverse groups.
Presents an appropriate image to the community.
Sound understanding of the political landscape for change and collaboration with civic leadership and partner organizations.
Demonstrates high standards of judgment, integrity, ethic, trustworthiness, and responsibility.
Embodies genuine and infectious energy.
Possesses highly developed interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
