The VP of Finance and Operations effectively manages the Finance & Operations Department, and is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting, expense control and cash management for the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Industrial Development Board of the City of Mobile, Industrial Park Board of Mobile County, Industrial Development Authority of Mobile County, economic development funds and other special funds and accounts, retirement plans and performance contracts as assigned. Duties also include administration of the Chamber’s human resource responsibilities including payroll and benefits, negotiation of third party service contracts, hiring and review of departmental support personnel, oversight of building operations, provide oversight for the Chamber’s information technology activity and management of miscellaneous legal issues as they may arise.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance, preferably an MBA or certified public accountant, with at least ten years experience in financial management and accounting, including experience in hiring and supervising personnel, administration of employee benefits and general corporate operations. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Sage 100 software a plus. Excellent planning, writing and verbal skills required.
