OBI seeks a dynamic and strategic individual to lead its membership development and stewardship efforts. As a membership organization, the director will play an important role in the long-term health and stability of the association by designing and implementing a statewide membership dues, engagement, benefits and stewardship program. This role is a key leadership position at OBI, reporting to and becoming a strategic thought partner for the president/CEO. The director will serve on OBI’s leadership team and advance the association’s mission through strategic efforts to cultivate new members and engage and retain existing members. The director will lead a team of sales and event staff and the successful candidate will have a track record in successful business-to-business sales, team leadership, and program development and execution. Compensation will include a generous base salary with the opportunity to earn more through a performance-based commission and bonus structure that recognizes individual and team success.
Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the membership and events team, achieving annual revenue goals and executing events that advance OBI’s internal and external goals
Develop and implement statewide membership outreach and engagement program
Develop and manage strategic relationship with OBI stakeholders, including member companies, Oregon chambers of commerce, trade associations, business leagues, and others
Increase membership revenue through direct sales and through sales by other OBI team members
Develop and implement a dues structure, sales plan and sales collateral
Work with policy, operations and communications team members to ensure member feedback is gathered and considered as part of OBI’s advocacy work
Manage OBI member benefit programs, including CompSAFE and various discount programs
Manage any membership-related processes, systems, and structures, including improving utilization of data and reports
Work closely with the COO and others to market and grow OBI HealthChoice
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum six years’ experience and demonstrated success in direct sales, fundraising or member relations, or equivalent
Minimum three years’ experience leading a sales, membership or customer relations team
Strategic, creative thinker with experience developing programs, systems or similar
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to build and maintain strategic partnerships
