The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for their next President & CEO. The MBACC works year-round to promote the Grand Strand area as a family-friendly vacation destination by showcasing the areas restaurants, entertainment venues, attractions and more. Tourism is the largest segment of the economy contributing $7 billion to the economy and employing approximately 83,000 people. By working together to grow tourism, they build a better community for businesses, residents and visitors alike.
A minimum of 10 years of executive level experience preferably within a Chamber or DMO.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Political Science, Finance or related field.
Experience working with boards and/or multiple stakeholder groups, including local political officials
Board governance and management experience highly desirable
Should have a demonstrated record of cooperation and collaboration with other organizations in working for the advancement of community goals, tourism development, advocacy, membership development, job growth and community service.
Significant experience and proven success in the areas of deployment, market research, accountability and tracking.
Excellent presentation skills.
A team leader who works well in a collegial management environment but is equally comfortable in a more competitive corporate environment.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Ability to efficiently handle multi-tasked operations.
Ability to work effectively with the media.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel as well as board members and the general membership.
Ability to be flexible regarding business hours and accepting new responsibilities

Purpose -There are three primary functions performed by the chamber:

Protect business: the chamber seeks to influence legislation and regulation by local, state and federal governments in a proactive manner, supporting... legislation that benefits businesses and the communities they reside in and, where necessary, opposing legislation that unnecessarily inhibits businesses.
Improve business: the chamber offers a multitude of programs and services that assist businesses and/or individuals.
Mission Statement - The mission of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is to provide community leadership in the promotion of economic development, including tourism. Accordingly, the chamber will effectively involve itself in the governmental and political arena and the coordinating of efforts to advance business development in order to improve the quality of life and to encourage unity in the region.
Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has represented the Grand Strand's business community for 80 years. The chamber serves Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, Little River, Atlantic Beach, Garden City Beach, Loris, Conway, Aynor, Murrells Inlet, Litchfield Beach, Pawleys Island, Socastee and Carolina Forest.
